Challenge
How can a retail environment go beyond product display to create a memorable and immersive brand experience that engages visitors physically and emotionally while guiding them through the space intuitively?
Overview
This project focused on designing a retail installation that blends spatial design, branding, and user experience. The goal was to transform a physical retail space into an immersive environment where visitors can explore the brand through layout, materials, lighting, and visual storytelling.
Role
I led the full creative process, including concept development, spatial planning, visual design, and installation direction. This included designing how users move through the space and how each element contributes to the overall experience.
Production Process
The project began with an established brand system, including defined colours, typography, and logo assets. The focus was on translating this existing identity into a physical retail installation. Research centered on contemporary retail environments and experiential design, analyzing how leading installations use layout, spatial hierarchy, and interaction to guide user flow. The images shown below were initial mockups created to explore layout and visual concepts; these were iterated and refined to fully align with the brand’s identity, ensuring that the final installation felt cohesive, functional, and visually on-brand.
Retail Experience
360˚ Touchless Rotating Product App
This interactive application allows users to explore products in full 360˚ without physical contact. Designed for a seamless, touchless experience, users can rotate and examine items through gesture-based interaction, enhancing accessibility while maintaining a high level of engagement. The feature replicates the in-store handling experience in a digital format.
Dual-TouchScreen Catalogue Ordering App
The dual-screen interface enables both customers and staff to interact with the catalogue simultaneously. Users can browse, compare, and select products while viewing detailed specifications and availability in real time. This collaborative setup streamlines the ordering process and enhances communication within the retail environment.
Marketing Materials
Supporting the installation, a series of cohesive marketing materials were designed to extend the brand experience beyond the digital interface. These assets maintain visual consistency while communicating key product information, ensuring a unified and professional presence across all touchpoints.
